Frontier Silicon was established in 2001 as a fabless semiconductor company with a mission to deliver highly integrated system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for digital radio and television, and to enable an exciting new generation of consumer multimedia electronics products. After developing Chorus, the world’s leading SoC for the Eureka 147 DAB digital radio standard, Frontier Silicon quickly established a strong market position through delivering complete DAB modules (base band and RF) to leading suppliers of radio sets to the consumer market. By September 2004, within just two years of introducing Chorus, already shipped over one million devices and become the industry standard for DAB digital radio.

The current flagship product, the Paradiso FS1030 IC, is an advanced DVB-H/T-DMB/DAB multi-standard baseband receiver chip, enabling mobile TV, video, audio and data services for devices such as mobile phones and PDAs, with industry-leading performance, size and cost. Paradiso builds on Frontier Silicon’s market-leading Kino and Chorus product range for T-DMB and DAB, with support for all DVB-H and T-DMB modes, including Chinese, European and Korean variants. It is designed to be used in conjunction with an RF front-end such as Frontier Silicon’s Apollo FS 1110, and multiple host media processors.
